How to change keyboard layout in Linux

Linux:
X:
edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
line : "XkbLayout" "us"

console:
edit /etc/sysconfig/keyboard
KEYTABLE="us"

on spot change keyboard layout.
> loadkeys us
